Overview

Nick is a labor and employment litigator who helps organizations navigate the shifting California employment landscape. Nicholas has defended employers in federal and state courts and administrative agencies in matters involving wrongful termination, breaches of employment agreements, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Nick’s experience includes defending an organization against a breach-of-contract claim as lead trial counsel in a state court bench trial.

Nick also helps clients avoid litigation by crafting compliance strategies aligned with California’s complex employment regulations. He drafts personnel policies, employment contracts, and separation agreements and represents employers in administrative hearings before state and federal agencies.

Before his legal career, Nick worked as a paralegal for the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux in Haiti to help file suit against the United Nations on behalf of thousands of Haitians who died from cholera introduced by peacekeeping troops. While in law school, Nick also worked with the East Bay Community Law Center to provide free counsel for low-income East Bay residents facing eviction, representing tenants in more than twenty lawsuits in California state court and advising on other housing issues.
