Constangy is a great place for attorneys at all levels in their careers. Associates are given opportunities to work with clients early on as well as to participate in business development and leadership committees. We are also proud of our firm’s history of attorneys making Constangy a career home for the duration of their legal practices. We even find that attorneys come and join us later in their careers, having recognized over time how Constangy is a special firm where attorneys can be themselves, share ideas, and get a fair piece of the pie in a collegial environment. Finally, dare we tell you that attorneys have left our firm over the years, only to come back to us? There truly is a wider lens at Constangy.
Our attorneys come from wide and varied backgrounds educationally, ethnically, geographically, economically, and career-wise. Some had careers before going into law, such as newspaper editors, school teachers, manufacturing plant managers, and HR directors. We like the mix. Our firm does not have one-size-fits-all attorneys.
A Word About Associates
Constangy practices labor and employment law exclusively, representing management. Unlike at some other firms, associates at Constangy are presented opportunities for client contact at very early stages of their careers and to handle cases and attain experience through hands-on learning, rather than through years of research memos and tagging along with more senior attorneys. Constangy prides itself in promoting an "open door" atmosphere, where junior attorneys are encouraged to approach their more-experienced colleagues with questions and concerns. Moreover, Associates are treated as self-motivated professionals from the outset and are expected to work the hours necessary to meet our clients’ needs and firm goals without excessive monitoring or unnecessary scrutiny.
Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete LLP is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to providing equal opportunity in all of our employment practices, including but not limited to selection, hiring, assignment, re-assignment, promotion, transfer, and compensation. Our Firm prohibits discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in employment based on race; color; religion; national origin; sex (including pregnancy); gender; gender expression or identity; change of sex or transgender status; sexual orientation; age; disability; genetic information, citizenship status; military or veteran status; or any other category protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
