Overview
Brent is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in Dallas, Texas. He works with our cyber litigation team in defending clients against class action matters arising from data security incidents. He has several years of experience defending clients in complex litigation and in advising them about compliance with data privacy legislation, including the California Consumer Privacy Act. His knowledge of data privacy law is reflected in the credentials he holds as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for United States laws (CIPP/US) and for European laws (CIPP/E) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He is licensed to practice in Texas and is admitted to the Texas state and federal courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Brent is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, at the University of North Texas with a double-major in History and Political Science. He also served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, earning the rank of Sergeant.
