Constangy attorney Amanda Novak has earned the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

It also provides a wealth of resources to professionals and organizations seeking to manage and protect data. They’re the world’s largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community.

Individuals holding the AIGP credential ensure safety and trust in the development and deployment of ethical AI and ongoing management of AI systems. Throughout the required course, individuals develop foundational knowledge of AI systems and their use cases, the impacts of AI, and comprehension of responsible AI principles. They also gain an understanding of how current and emerging laws apply to AI systems, and how major frameworks are capable of being responsibly governed. Individuals develop an understanding of the AI life cycle, the context in which AI risks are managed, and the implementation of responsible AI governance. They also gain awareness of unforeseen concerns with AI and knowledge of debated issues surrounding AI governance.

Amanda, a member of the Constangy Cyber Team, focuses her practice on privacy and cybersecurity matters. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in U.S. (CIPP/US) and European law (CIPP/E).

Amanda advises clients across diverse sectors on security incident response by coordinating digital forensics and remediation, analyzing obligations under state, federal, and international data breach notification statutes, facilitating the fulfillment of consumer, contractual, and regulatory notification obligations, and responding to inquiries from government agencies, regulators, and the media.

Amanda provides compliance advice and guidance on the evolving state, federal, and international privacy regimes, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other data security and privacy laws and regulations. She also helps clients draft and implement privacy compliance programs, including data subject request processes, internal and external-facing privacy and security policies, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, incident response plans, data processing agreements, and privacy and data security provisions in service agreements.
