NYC salary history measure signed into law, will take effect October 31

As we reported in April, the New York City Council passed a measure that would bar all private employers from asking about or relying on salary history during the hiring process. On May 4, Mayor Bill de Blasio signed the measure into law, meaning that it will take effect on October 31. New York City employers should start preparing to comply with the new law.
