As we dive into the holiday season, the opportunities increase for off-duty conduct to impact the workplace. Employers may not realize that what their employees do outside of work can have adverse consequences on a company’s success. Employers might also wonder how to draw the line between the work life and the private life.
In this Breakfast Briefing, attorneys Damon Kitchen and Colin Thakkar will discuss how management should respond – and should not respond -- to certain types of off-duty conduct that they are likely to face, including:
- Social media activity and controversial speech
- Questionable behavior at company-sponsored functions
- Illegal activity
- Legal and semi-legal drug use
- Moonlighting
