National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP is pleased to announce Rebecca Pollack has joined the firm’s Cyber Team and will be located in the Portland office. Pollack joins the 50-member team, continuing the firm’s expansion of service to clients in this critical area of business.
Pollack focuses her practice on advising clients regarding data privacy and cybersecurity matters. She leverages her business background and education in technology and privacy law to aid clients in addressing data privacy and security risks.
Pollack provides clients with compliance advice and guidance on state, federal, and international privacy laws and frameworks, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other data security and privacy laws and regulations. Additionally, she assists clients in drafting and negotiating privacy-related agreements, creating and implementing privacy compliance programs, and conducting compliance gap analyses and audits.
Previously, Pollack worked in-house for a variety of U.S. and international technology companies. While in-house, she developed and evolved privacy compliance programs on both a product-specific and company-wide scale. This involved analyzing the constantly evolving US state privacy law landscape, ensuring privacy was a primary focus in the development of new products, drafting and implementing internal privacy policies and procedures, responding to data subject rights requests, preparing data transfer impact assessments, external-facing privacy and security documentation, and responding to data security incidents.
Pollack holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional credentials for both the United States (CIPP/US) and Europe (CIPP/E), in addition to the Certified Information Privacy Manager credential (CIPM) and the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) designation.
