Constangy attorney Chris Deubert recently published an article featured in Arizona State University’s Sports & Entertainment Law Journal, Vol. 12, No. 2.
The article, “Major League Soccer at Twenty-Five: Legal and Financial Considerations for the Next Quarter Century,” explores the evolution of Major League Soccer during its first 25 years of existence and analyzes the legal and financial issues relevant to the league’s next 25 years.
Deubert is an attorney with more than twelve years of experience at law firms, in-house, and in academia, with extensive expertise in sports, litigation, and labor and employment. He previously operated as a solo practitioner, representing mostly clients in the sports industry, including but not limited to professional sports teams and athletes, sports agents, a sports marketing agency, and an NFT-related sports start-up. Deubert assisted clients with litigation, league matters, employment, transactional matters, corporate governance, corporate formation, intellectual property, sports betting, and more. From November 2018 to March 2021, he was General Counsel for D.C. United of Major League Soccer.
