Overview
Amanda is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Amanda has substantial experience advising clients on compliance with data privacy and information security laws and regulations. Her insights are informed by assisting clients in responding to hundreds of data privacy and security incidents. In guiding clients through the incident response process, she has facilitated digital forensic investigations, threat actor communications, and network restoration projects, while assisting clients in complying with contractual and statutory consumer notification and regulatory reporting obligations.
As a member of the Constangy compliance advisory team, Amanda provides advice and guidance on the evolving state, federal, and international privacy regimes, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other data security and privacy laws and regulations. She also helps clients develop and implement privacy compliance programs, including data subject request processes, internal and external-facing privacy and security policies, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, incident response plans, data processing agreements, and privacy and data security provisions in service agreements.
Amanda earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, where she served as an editor of the Minnesota Law Review, and published an article on the intersection of artificial intelligence and the law. She has since published articles in academic journals on issues pertaining to international law, emerging technologies, and peace and security. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with honors in English from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law from the United Nations Interregional Crime & Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).
Amanda is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in United States laws (CIPP/US) and in European law (CIPP/E) as well as an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She has also been recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) from IAPP, recognizing her advanced expertise in privacy laws and data protection practices. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Illinois. She regularly writes and speaks on legal issues pertaining to privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

About Me
Amanda is passionate about human rights. She has taught and presented on many human rights related topics and has contributed to international advocacy, conflict-related research, and representation of asylum seekers to advance human rights both globally and locally. She loves raptors, having volunteered and served on the board of a rehabilitation program for injured owls, hawks, eagles, and falcons. Always eager to embrace new challenges, she enjoys learning new languages, horseback riding, painting, and practicing yoga.
